GolfSMRT ("GolfSMRT," the "App," "we," "our," or "us") is a golf round tracking service available on iPhone, Apple Watch, Android phones, and Wear OS watches. This Privacy Policy explains what information GolfSMRT collects, how it is used and disclosed, how long it is retained, and the choices available to you.
This policy applies to the GolfSMRT mobile and watch applications, our backend services, and related features that link to this policy. It does not apply to third-party websites or services governed by their own privacy policies.
When you register, sign in, or maintain a GolfSMRT account, we may collect:
GolfSMRT account authentication is provided through our own backend and token-based authentication system.
GolfSMRT collects precise GPS location from your phone and/or paired watch when you use location-based golf features. We use location to:
Background location disclosure: During an active golf round, GolfSMRT may collect precise location while the App is in the background, while another app is visible, or while the screen is off. Active-round background location is used only for golf functionality such as live yardages, shot tracking, maps, and watch synchronization. GolfSMRT does not continuously collect background location when no round is active.
Shot coordinates and other round-related location data may be stored with your GolfSMRT account and are therefore linked to your identity. You can decline or revoke location permission in device settings, but GPS yardages, shot location, and related round features will not work correctly.

When you use GolfSMRT with Apple Watch or Wear OS and grant the applicable permissions, GolfSMRT may access or collect the following round-related health and fitness information:
On Apple devices, GolfSMRT may read authorized data from Apple Health using HealthKit and may run a golf workout session on Apple Watch. On Wear OS, GolfSMRT may obtain authorized sensor and exercise data through Android Health Services and related device APIs.
We use this information to display round fitness summaries, support active watch operation, synchronize round summaries between devices, and, where enabled, associate round-level fitness statistics with your GolfSMRT round history. Depending on platform and feature availability, round-level summaries may be processed on your device and/or stored with your GolfSMRT account on our backend.
GolfSMRT accesses heart-rate information only after you grant the applicable device permission and, where presented, provide in-app consent. If you decline or revoke permission, heart-rate features will be unavailable. Steps and walking distance may still be collected where separately permitted and necessary for the requested round-fitness feature.
Health data protections: GolfSMRT does not sell health or fitness data, use it for targeted advertising, use it for data-broker activities, or use it to determine eligibility for employment, insurance, credit, housing, or similar decisions. Health and fitness data is used only to provide and improve the golf and round-fitness features you request.
GolfSMRT is not a medical device. Heart-rate, step, and distance information is provided for general fitness and informational purposes only. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, monitor, or prevent any disease or medical condition and should not be used for medical decisions. GolfSMRT offers subscriptions through Google Play and the Apple App Store. To provide and verify subscription access, we may collect or receive:
Google and Apple process your payment and maintain your payment-card or bank-account details. GolfSMRT does not receive or store your complete payment-card number, bank-account number, or store-account password.
We may collect:
We use Firebase Analytics to understand app performance and feature use. Analytics may include screens viewed, features used, round lifecycle events, session timing, device and app information, and pseudonymous app-instance identifiers. Analytics data may be associated with a device or app instance. We do not use analytics for targeted advertising or cross-app tracking.
We may collect crash reports and diagnostic information through Firebase Crashlytics and GolfSMRT diagnostic tools. This may include stack traces, app state, device and operating-system details, timestamps, synchronization events, and limited round context needed to investigate a problem. Diagnostic logs are used for security, debugging, reliability, and support and are not used for advertising.
Except for the health and fitness information specifically described above, GolfSMRT does not intentionally request Social Security numbers, government-issued identification numbers, genetic data, facial templates, fingerprints, or other biometric identifiers used to identify a person. GolfSMRT does not receive or store complete payment-card or bank-account details.

We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not use health data or precise location for targeted advertising.

Service providers process information under their applicable agreements and privacy terms. We disclose only information reasonably necessary for them to perform services for GolfSMRT.
We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law or valid legal process; protect the rights, safety, and security of GolfSMRT, our users, or others; investigate fraud or abuse; or establish, exercise, or defend legal claims. If TapTap LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction subject to applicable law.
GolfSMRT presents a prominent in-app explanation before requesting location access. Depending on your platform and feature, the operating system may separately request foreground, precise, or background location permission. You may choose "Not Now," grant approximate location where supported, or revoke permission later in device settings.
For accurate shot and yardage features, precise location is required. Background access is used only during an active round. Ending the round stops active-round tracking. You may also force-stop or close the App through device controls, though doing so may interrupt scoring, synchronization, or shot tracking.

When you delete your account, we will delete or de-identify personal information from active systems within 30 days unless retention is required or permitted by law. Residual copies may remain temporarily in protected backups until overwritten through normal backup rotation.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or obtain a portable copy of personal information. You may also have the right to withdraw consent and appeal a denied privacy request.
We may need to verify your identity before completing a privacy request. Authorized agents may submit requests where permitted by law, subject to verification of authority.
Residents of California and certain other U.S. states may have rights to know or access personal information, correct inaccuracies, delete information, obtain a portable copy, opt out of sale or targeted advertising, limit certain uses of sensitive personal information, and receive equal service for exercising privacy rights.
GolfSMRT does not sell personal information and does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We use sensitive information, including precise geolocation and health information, only to provide the requested GolfSMRT functionality, secure the service, and comply with law. You may have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, and portability, and the right to complain to your local supervisory authority. GolfSMRT's primary backend is hosted in the United States. When personal information is transferred internationally, we use applicable safeguards required by law.

Information associated with your GolfSMRT account, stored round, subscription, or social activity is linked to your identity. Analytics and diagnostics may be associated with an app instance or device and may become linked where included in authenticated or round-specific support logs. GolfSMRT does not use collected data to track you across apps or websites owned by other companies for advertising purposes.
GolfSMRT accesses Apple Health data only with your authorization. Information obtained through HealthKit is not sold, used for advertising, or disclosed to data brokers. GolfSMRT uses HealthKit information only for health, fitness, and golf functionality described in this policy.

Data is encrypted in transit. Required account, authentication, and core round information is necessary to provide the service. Location, health, notifications, and certain analytics or diagnostics depend on feature use, consent, permissions, or platform configuration. Users may request deletion through the App or by email.
GolfSMRT uses health and fitness permissions for golf-related fitness and activity features: displaying round heart-rate statistics, steps, and walking distance and supporting an active golf exercise session on Wear OS. GolfSMRT is not intended for diagnosis, treatment, clinical monitoring, emergency use, or other medical purposes. Health information is not sold or used for advertising.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. These include HTTPS/TLS encryption in transit, access controls, password hashing, restricted production access, and security controls provided by our hosting and platform providers. No system can guarantee absolute security.
GolfSMRT is not directed to children under 13, or under 16 where that higher age applies. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below the applicable age. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and delete it as required.
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in GolfSMRT, law, or our data practices. We will update the "Last Updated" date and provide additional notice in the App or by other appropriate means when a change is material.
